- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
- Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish
- Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned (5–7 minutes)
- Add diced onion and spices (garlic powder, paprika, cayenne)
- Drain excess fat from the beef mixture
- Combine cooked beef, onion, soup, and sour cream in a bowl until smooth
- Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar cheese over the beef mixture in the greased dish
- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top
- Sprinkle remaining 1 cup cheddar cheese over the tater tots
- Bake for 30 minutes until golden and bubbling
