Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups crushed pretzel pieces
  • 6 oz vegetarian strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 12 tbsp (1.5 cups) melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar (1/4 cup + 1/2 cup)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Fresh strawberries (for topping)

Method
 

  1. Dissolve strawberry Jell-O in boiling water.
  2. Crush pretzels into coarse texture.
  3. Melt butter with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp vanilla, then stir in remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
  4. Press pretzel mixture into a 13x9-inch pan.
  5. Spread melted butter-sugar mixture over pretzel crust, bake at 350°F for 10 minutes, and cool.
  6. Pour Jell-O solution evenly over crust.
  7. Chill Jell-O layer for 30 minutes.
  8. Freeze strawberry slices for 10 minutes, then spread over chilled Jell-O.
  9. Chill 45+ minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use 14-inch pan if needed for even layering.
Chill Jell-O fully to prevent sticking.
Freezing strawberries reduces moisture.
Press crust evenly for firm base.
Original recipe contains pork-based gelatin; substitute with vegetarian alternative.
