Ingredients
  

  • 6 oz strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 12 Tbsp unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for crust)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cream cheese mixture)
  • 2 cups crushed halal or non-processed pretzels
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese, low-fat optional
  • 8 oz thawed Cool Whip, vegetarian
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water and set aside
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter and 1/4 cup sugar until creamy
  4. Stir in crushed pretzels to form a crust
  5. Press mixture into a greased 9x13-inch dish
  6. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool
  7. In another bowl, combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, and Cool Whip until smooth
  8. Spread over pretzel crust
  9. Gently fold in sliced strawberries
  10. Drizzle Jell-O mixture over the top
  11. Refrigerate uncovered for 5 hours until set

Notes

Use halal-certified pretzels for dietary compliance
Substitute sugar-free Jell-O for a lighter option
Cool Whip can be homemade with whipped cream for a vegan alternative
Chill at least 4 hours for optimal texture
