Ingredients

  • Avocado oil (2 teaspoons, or olive oil)
  • Yellow onion (1 medium, diced)
  • Lean ground beef or turkey (1 lb, or halal ground lamb/plant-based crumbles)
  • Onion powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Garlic powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Non-alcoholic Worcestershire sauce (1 teaspoon)
  • Mayonnaise (2 tablespoons)
  • Mustard (1 tablespoon)
  • Dill pickle juice (1 tablespoon)
  • Lettuce (4 cups, shredded)
  • Ripe tomato (1 medium, sliced)
  • Pickles (4-6 slices)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon, for fries)
  • Freshly ground pepper (1 teaspoon)
  • Baby potatoes (2 cups, halved) or baked potatoes (3 small)
  • Sour cream (2 tablespoons, optional)

Method

  1. Heat 2 teaspoons avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onions 4 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground beef or turkey, smash meat to flatten evenly. Sprinkle onion and garlic powder. Cook 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in non-alcoholic Worcestershire sauce, then transfer meat to a bowl.
  4. In the same skillet, cook seasoned potatoes until golden and crispy.
  5. Assemble bowls with lettuce, smashed meat, hot fries, tomato, pickles, and smash sauce (combine mayo, mustard, pickle juice). Top with sour cream.

Notes

Use non-alcoholic Worcestershire substitute (e.g., soy sauce or vinegar-based mix). Add cheese like cheddar for a melty layer. Leftovers store well in the fridge.
