Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (7-8 oz each)
  • 10.5 oz condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 8 slices turkey deli meat
  • 4 thick-cut slices Swiss cheese
  • 6 oz herb-seasoned stuffing mix
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Whisk together the cream of chicken soup, milk, melted butter, and Dijon mustard in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer the turkey deli slices over the chicken.
  4. Top the turkey with the Swiss cheese slices.
  5. Pour the creamy soup mixture evenly over the chicken and cheese layers.
  6. Sprinkle the dry stuffing mix evenly over the top of the casserole.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  8. Serve warm directly from the slow cooker.

Notes

Ensure you use thick-cut Swiss cheese for better texture retention during the long cooking process. If you prefer a crunchier topping, you can lightly toast the stuffing mix in a pan with a little extra butter before adding it to the slow cooker during the final 30 minutes of cooking.
