  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 18 oz Thick molasses-style BBQ sauce

Method
 

  1. Combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl to create the dry spice rub.
  2. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken breasts into the base of the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce over the chicken, ensuring it is completely covered.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2.5 hours or low for 4-5 hours.
  6. Shred the cooked chicken using two forks directly inside the pot.
  7. Cook for an additional 15 minutes if needed to ensure the chicken reaches optimal tenderness.

Ensure you use a non-alcoholic BBQ sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If the chicken is not shredding easily, ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
