Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened, or melted coconut oil)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark or vegan)
  • Pink, purple, yellow, blue gel food coloring

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl
  3. Beat softened butter until fluffy, gradually add sugars
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until emulsified
  5. Alternate dry ingredients into wet mixture in 3 batches
  6. Divide dough into 4 portions, tint each with food coloring
  7. Fold colored dough together and press into balls
  8. Place 8-10 cookies on parchment-lined sheets
  9. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are golden
