Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (hand-shredded)
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pimiento
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 4 slices halal bacon
  • 1 medium baguette (sliced 1/3-inch thick)

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine cheddar, cream cheese, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  2. Add pimiento, hot sauce, garlic, and cayenne; mix thoroughly.
  3. Roast halal bacon at 400°F for 8-10 minutes until crisp; chop and fold into cheese mixture.
  4. Slice baguette into 1/3-inch rounds; toast on baking sheet at 375°F for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  5. Spread warm pimento cheese mixture onto toasted slices immediately.

Notes

Substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise to reduce fat
Use roasted red peppers if pimiento is unavailable
Adjust hot sauce or cayenne to taste
Store crostini at room temperature for up to 30 minutes before serving
