Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp thinly sliced scallions
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 tsp fresh minced garlic)
  • 48 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil (canola, sunflower, or avocado oil for frying)

Method
 

  1. 1. Prepare a work surface and heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F.
  2. 2. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, scallions, and garlic powder until smooth.
  3. 3. Take 1 wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful of filling in the center. Moisten one edge with water, fold in half, and press to seal completely. Repeat for all wrappers.
  4. 4. Fry rangoons for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Notes

For a spiced twist, add chili flakes to the filling or brush with a honey glaze before frying. Use egg roll wrappers for a thicker crust or puff pastry for a decadent version. Seal edges carefully to prevent filling from oozing. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a toaster oven or air fryer.
