Ingredients
Method
- 1. Prepare a work surface and heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F.
- 2. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, scallions, and garlic powder until smooth.
- 3. Take 1 wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful of filling in the center. Moisten one edge with water, fold in half, and press to seal completely. Repeat for all wrappers.
- 4. Fry rangoons for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Notes
For a spiced twist, add chili flakes to the filling or brush with a honey glaze before frying. Use egg roll wrappers for a thicker crust or puff pastry for a decadent version. Seal edges carefully to prevent filling from oozing. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a toaster oven or air fryer.
