Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef
  • 2 Cups Salsa
  • 16 Ounce Can Chili Beans, drained
  • 3 Cups Tortilla Chips, slightly crushed
  • 2 Cups Sour Cream
  • 2 Ounce Can Black Olives, drained and sliced
  • 0.5 Cup Green Onion, chopped
  • 0.5 Cup Fresh Tomato, diced
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese, freshly shredded

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish generously with cooking spray.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the lean ground beef for 8 to 10 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Stir in the salsa and drained chili beans, simmering for a few minutes to combine flavors.
  5. Spread half of the crushed tortilla chips into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the chips.
  7. Spread the sour cream over the beef layer.
  8. Top with the remaining tortilla chips and shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  10. Remove from oven and garnish with sliced black olives, green onions, and fresh diced tomatoes before serving.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey for lean ground beef if desired. Choose your salsa heat level based on your family's spice preference. For the best melting quality, shred the cheddar cheese yourself rather than using pre-shredded varieties.
