Ingredients
Method
- Remove chicken thighs from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to reach room temperature.
- Pat the chicken skin and underside thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure maximum crispness.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken thighs.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin-side down.
- Cook for 20 minutes.
- Carefully flip the chicken thighs over so they are skin-side up.
- Continue cooking for another 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the skin is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Patting the skin dry is the most important step for achieving a crispy texture. Do not skip this. If you prefer extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice blend. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes to restore crispness.
