Ingredients

  • Frozen waffle fries
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 500g lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp chopped cornichons
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp alcohol-free Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Bowl toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, pickles, caramelized onions)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to waffle fries package’s recommended temperature. Spread fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cook as directed
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard until smooth
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sauté for 5 minutes
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes, breaking into crumbles, until browned
  5. Stir in oregano, paprika, cornichons, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Cook for 1 minute to blend flavors
  6. Divide cooked fries into four bowls. Top each with beef mixture, sauce, and desired toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and pickles

Notes

Ensure waffle fries are fully dried after cooking to prevent sogginess
Substitute olive oil with avocado oil for a neutral flavor
Use smoked paprika for a deeper taste
Cornichons can be swapped with relish if unavailable
For meal prep, refrigerate components separately and assemble before serving
